INTRODUCTION

ZEBITA XT TABLET contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hematinics. It is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiency anaemia associated with iron and folic acid.

ZEBITA XT TABLET can also be used to treat and prevent anaemia occurring during pregnancy and breast feeding. Anemia is when your body can’t produce enough of haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron.

ZEBITA XT TABLET is not recommended to be taken if you have any kidney or liver diseases, porphyria cutanea tarda, conditions affecting iron level of your body, cobalamin deficiency, any malignant disease, inflammatory bowel disease, galactose intolerance, lapp lactase deficiency or glucose – galactose malabsorption.

It is not recommended to take ZEBITA XT TABLET if you are receiving frequent blood transfusions and parenteral iron therapy. ZEBITA XT TABLET is safe to take in pregnancy and breastfeeding, however, consult your doctor before taking it. Safety and efficacy of ZEBITA XT TABLET in children have not been established.

The most common side effects of taking ZEBITA XT TABLET are nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools. It is recommended to consult the doctor if any of the symptoms worsen or persist for longer duration.

HOW ZEBITA XT TABLET WORKS

ZEBITA XT TABLET helps increase haemoglobin levels where Ferrous ascorbate facilitates oxygen delivery and consumption, promotes cell growth and multiplication and thus boosts red blood cells and haemoglobin synthesis and Folic acid plays an essential role in the production of red blood cells (which transport oxygen throughout the body) and during pregnancy, owing to its function in the development of the brain and spinal cord of the developing baby.
