INTRODUCTION

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION contains Triptorelin which belongs to the group of medicines called Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists. PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION is used in men to treat prostate cancer and in children (2 years and older) to treat central precocious puberty (puberty before 8 years in girls and 10 years in boys).

Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that begins in the gland cells of the prostate. Symptoms such as difficulty with urination, pain or burning sensation during urination and blood in the urine or semen.

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with heart rhythm problems, diabetes, enlargement (benign tumour) of the pituitary gland or have a progressive brain tumour (especially in children). Consult your doctor before receiving it.

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children aged 2 years and older. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

The most common side effects of receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION are hot flushes, weakness, excessive sweating, back pain, pins and needles sensation, in the leg, reduced libido, impotence, acne, headache etc. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

USES OF PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION is used:

In men to treat prostate cancer
In children (2 years and older) to treat central precocious puberty
HOW PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION WORKS

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION works by lowering the levels of the hormone testosterone in men and helps to treat prostate cancer. In children PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION helps to supress gonadotropin (hormone) secretion in brain and helps to block pubertal development and also reduces the action of sex steroid hormones on bone maturation in order to restore normal long-term growth of the skeleton.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a muscle as an intramuscular injection. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Neck pain

Red or purple marks on the skin, blisters
Abnormal feeling in the eye, blurring or disturbance in vision
Feeling full in the stomach, flatulence, unusual sense of taste
Chest pain
Difficulty in standing
Flu-like symptoms
Inflammation of the nose or throat
Joints and muscle stiffness, muscle swelling, osteoarthritis
Memory loss, confusion, decreased activity, feeling elated
Breathlessness when lying flat

Stop receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

Serious allergic reaction symptoms such as swallowing or breathing problems, swelling of your lips, face, throat or tongue, a rash
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache:

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or ORS (Oral Rehydrating Solution) and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Contact your doctor if your headache did not improve.

Nausea and vomiting:

Receive PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if your nausea and vomiting did not improve.

Stomach pain:

Try to have smaller meals but take them frequently. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. Do not self-treat and contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.

Dizziness:

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not drink alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if your dizziness did not improve.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if your diarrhoea did not improve.

Constipation:

Take fibre-rich foods in your diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals and drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly and stay active. Contact your doctor if constipation persists.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

BREASTFEEDING

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, tired or have blurry vision after receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

ALCOHOL

Inform your doctor if you drink excessive amounts of alcohol as it might cause thinning of bones.

ALLERGY

Do not receive PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Triptorelin, gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) or other GnRH analogues or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

HEART DISEASE

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with heart rhythm problems (arrhythmia). Consult your doctor before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

OTHERS

Before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you:

Are a smoker
Have a family history of osteoporosis
Have a poor diet
Have diabetes
Have an enlargement (benign tumour) of the pituitary gland
Have a progressive brain tumour (especially in children)
Are going to check your hormone function

Use in pediatrics:

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children aged 2 years and older. Consult your doctor before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

Medicines used to prevent blood clotting Ex. warfarin
Anti-convulsant (medicine used to treat epilepsy or fits) Ex. lamotrigine, carbamazepine
Corticosteroids (used to treat inflammation) Ex. hydrocortisone, prednisolone
Medicines used to treat heart rhythm problems Ex. quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol
Methadone (used to relieve pain and in drug dependence detoxification)
Moxifloxacin (used to treat bacterial infections)
Medicines used to treat serious mental illnesses Ex. olanzapine, risperidone, haloperidol

Overdosage:

PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms after receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

How often can I use PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION?

Therapy of prostate cancer and early puberty with PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION requires long-term treatment. Usually, this medicine is injected into a muscle every 6 months (24 weeks). It will be given to you regularly to reduce testosterone levels. Your doctor will determine the treatment duration of PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION.

Can I stop receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION?

Receive PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION as advised by your doctor. Do not stop using PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION unless your doctor advised you to stop. Otherwise, your symptoms are likely to return. Your doctor will decide when treatment should be stopped (normally it will be stopped when you are about 12-13 years old if you are a girl and about 13-14 years old if you are a boy).

What are the side effects of receiving PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION?

If you feel anything wrong with your bones, inform your doctor as this may affect the way your doctor decides your treatment.

Can PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION cause vaginal bleeding?

Yes. Vaginal bleeding can occur in girls who have early puberty, in the first month of treatment with PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION. Consult your doctor if it is worrisome for you.

Yes, PAMORELIN LA 22.5MG INJECTION make you feel dizzy, tired or have blurry vision after receiving this medicine. Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep.
