INTRODUCTION
MOMEBACT F CREAM is a combination of Fusidic acid and Mometasone which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibacterial agents and Corticosteroids, respectively. MOMEBACT F CREAM is used to treat inflammatory dermatoses (lesions/eruptions of skin) with/without bacterial infection in affected individuals.
MOMEBACT F CREAM is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Fusidic acid, Mometasone, and/or other topical/oral corticosteroids. Before applying MOMEBACT F CREAM, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, glaucoma, infection at/near treatment site, active viral illnesses (such as chicken pox / measles), and/or suffer from liver failure.
[GBNKEYWORD is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children (aged below 12 years). The medicine is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of applying MOMEBACT F CREAM are mild to moderate pruritus (itchy skin), burning/stinging sensation of skin, folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles), dry skin, mild skin atrophy, and/or telangiectasia (dilated small blood vessels on skin). Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsens.

HOW MOMEBACT F CREAM WORKS
MOMEBACT F CREAM treats inflammatory dermatoses, where mometasone furoate prevents inflammation by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy, and fusidic acid prevents the growth of bacteria and causes its destruction by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins that are essential for the bacteria to grow thus treating inflammatory dermatoses in affected individuals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always apply MOMEBACT F CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Do not use this medicine on your face. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids.
SIDE EFFECTS OF MOMEBACT F CREAM
COMMON
Mild to moderate pruritus (itchy skin)
Burning and stinging sensation of skin
Folliculitis (a type of skin infection marked by inflamed hair follicles)
Dryness of skin
Acneiform eruptions (a type of skin infection marked by papules and pustules resembling acne (a type of skin condition where hair follicles become plugged in with oil and dead skin cells)

UNCOMMON
Erythema (skin rash)
Swelling due to accumulation of fluid in hands, arms, feet, ankles and legs

Irritation at site of application (including pain, irritation, and skin redness)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Dry Skin:
Try moisturizing your skin with an ointment, cream/lotion 2 or 3 times a day, or as often as needed. Moisturizers help to keep the area moisture, so they work best on damp skin. After you bathe, pat your skin dry then apply your moisturizer. Try to avoid using skin care products and soaps that contain alcohol, fragrances, dyes, or other chemicals.
Itchy Skin:
Try to pat or tap your skin instead of scratching it. Hold a damp towel to cool your skin. Wear loose clothing and avoid tight clothes, or clothes made from wool or synthetic fabrics. Avoid using perfumed soaps, deodorants or moisturizers and use skin softeners regularly.

OTHERS
Before applying MOMEBACT F CREAM, inform your doctor if you:
Have an infection at/near treatment site
Suffer from skin atrophy (decreased thickening of skin)
Have diabetes mellitus
Suffer from glaucoma (increased pressure in eye) / cataracts (cloudy of eye lens)
Have active viral illnesses such as chicken pox / measles.
Use in Paediatrics:
MOMEBACT F CREAM is not recommended for use in children (aged below 12 years). Consult your doctor before applying the medicine to the child.
Use in Geriatrics:
MOMEBACT F CREAM should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Consult your doctor before applying MOMEBACT F CREAM.
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug – Drug interactions:
Anthralin (medicines used to treat psoriasis).
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally applies too much of MOMEBACT F CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are suppression of pituitary adrenal function which results in secondary adrenal insufficiency associated with weakness, fatigue, and/or weight loss.
